Making Progress

We've spent our first few days here at Aravind optimizing our imaging hardware and anterior eye disease screening app. With the help of Aravind's research coordinators, we imaged 20 patients at the free eye care clinic here at the hospital. It has been such an eye opening experience (no pun intended) observing the logistics and efficiency of care here. Rohan, one of our team members, also had the opportunity to shadow Dr. Venkatesh in the OR while he performed cataract surgeries. Aravind's cataract surgery department is so streamlined that Dr. Venkatesh was able to do 40 cataract surgeries in just a few hours!

Tomorrow, we will observe our first eye camp at a work place where over 200 patients will be screened.
